I am hoping that we have seen the hottest weather for the summer and that we will now revert to more usual temperatures!
People have been asking what will happen to the Club Captaincy next year with the passing of our Vice Dave Hadden. I have spoken with your committee about this, and we have decided that we would like to elect a new Vice-Captain in the usual way when nominations for the Management Committee take place next Spring. The Vice Captaincy will remain vacant until then.
I intend to nominate Richard Toll as Vice-Captain and Richard has agreed to be nominated and to act as Vice-Captain in 2026 if he is duly elected by our members.
During 2026 (wef 1st April) we will have a full Committee elected in the usual way. I will act as Past Captain and between us all we will cover the role of Captain as required.
As a fitting tribute Captains Drive-In Day in 2026 will become “Dave’s Day “: a team Texas Scramble raising funds for AMCAL in the usual way. Dave’s name will be inscribed on the Captain’s Board “in memorium” for 2026. I hope that you all approve …
